Happy Sunday + happy April! I hope you all are off to a great start to the new month!
This week I want to talk to my brides-to-be who are in the process of booking their wedding vendors! Let’s admit it, searching for a perfect wedding vendor is a hard enough task. Whether it be your caterer, photographer, or even venue, you want to make sure you know the ins and outs before you book. So, when you are in your first consultation and they ask, “do you have any questions for me?” it’s not easy to know what to ask!
Today, I want to give you four questions to ask your wedding photographer! These questions are a bit more than your usual pricing or basic information questions. Hopefully, these will broaden your horizon of wedding photographer knowledge and will allow you to get to a place where you feel confident when you book!
Four Questions to Ask Your Wedding Photographer
“Have you shot at my wedding venue before?”
This is a great question to ask if you have your wedding venue booked. A photographer who is familiar with your venue may know the best spots for photos through the day! Don’t worry if they haven’t shot at your venue, you can always ask they scout the area prior to your wedding day.
“Are you insured?”
This is a question most people never ask, but is very important. Insurance protects the photographer if any of their equipment were stolen during the day or if any of your guests were to accidentally injure themselves from the photographers lighting stand, camera bag, or any other equipment.
“What is your turnaround time?”
This is always a great question to ask because most photographer will have different turnaround times. This will also give you a timeline to know when you will have those special memories ready!
“Will you create a shot list?”
A shot list is a list of every shot your photographer will take during the day. I would highly recommend asking this question to ensure you have the shots you want on your big day.
I hope this helps when you are ready to start looking for you wedding vendors- photographers specifically! And if you are just beginning your wedding planning process, I wrote tips on how to get started that you can check out, here.
As always, if you are currently searching for a wedding photographer then I would love to talk to you! I have a brand new pricing guide that I call my client’s bible. It has all the information you need about me, my business, and how I can cater to you. If you are interested, you can click here to fill out an inquiry! 🙂
I hope you all have a magical April! I will see you next week!
xoxo-
Sarah.
