Hi, friends!
I am coming off a long, but incredible, wedding weekend. I got to spend my Saturday celebrating Pamela + Henry and can’t wait to show you this gallery! Be sure to check out my instagram to see their engagement photos. I will have wedding pictures soon- so, stay tuned!
Speaking of engagement photos, I thought it would be a lot of fun to take today’s gallery highlight and shine it on a recent engagement session of mine! I typically like to share my wedding photos with you, but this session turned out so beautifully and I have to share it with you all!
Everyone, meet Christian + Lydia!
When I first sat down with Lydia to go over her vision for her engagement shoot she said she wanted that “golden” look in her photos. When she mentioned this, I knew we were going to have so much fun. That look and style is one of my favorites to capture and so going into this shoot I kept that in the forefront of my mind! One of the biggest tasks for me personally was scouting the best location so I could play with golden hour light, get wide shots, and also make sure they were comfortable.
Now, would you believe me if I said these were taken behind a local grocery store here in Columbia? Because they were and I couldn’t have asked for a better spot! It had everything my checklist asked for and that’s all a photographer can dream of!
Lydia had asked prior if she could bring her sweet fur-baby, Nico. I couldn’t have said yes any faster! I always encourage clients to bring their fur-babies (or real babies!) during shoots. I think it helps create an uplifting energy and tends to help clients if they’re feeling awkward or anxious during a shoot!
My biggest piece of advice is if you are planning to bring your fur-baby, have someone come with you as the animal babysitter! This will help keep the animal calm while you’re trying to pose, get situated, etc. Lydia’s sister tagged along and watched Nico when he wasn’t needed for photos. This helped in so many ways!
I am all about letting your pups roam around, play and explore. It was really sweet to see that interaction between the three of them!
This shoot was so dreamy and romantic from start to finish and I couldn’t have asked for a better couple to shoot with. I want to say a huge, “thank you” to Lydia for trusting me to take your vision and make it reality. It truly was so much fun for me to work with you, Christian, and Nico! I wish you two the absolute best and a life filled with love, joy, and happiness and can’t wait to party at your wedding with you next year!
xoxo-
Sarah
