How to Plan Your Micro Wedding

Hi, hello, + happy Sunday!

If you have been following wedding trends over the past year, you may have seen what are called “micro wedding’s” popping up. With the impact of COVID-19 on brides, families, and more these are the perfect way to ensure your guests are safe and a way avoid a “virtual wedding”. They are a sure fire way to bring intimacy into your day while also creating memories you will never forget!

What exactly is a “Micro Wedding’?

By definition, a micro wedding is a wedding that includes 30 guests or less including vendors. This is a perfect compromise between an elopement and a larger wedding. But, don’t let that number pressure you into spend all night wondering who to invite and not invite to your wedding. Micro weddings elicit flexibility in your planning process so sit back, relax, pop some bubbly, and let’s get to planning!

Style

When styling anything in your life, it comes down to personal preference. This may look like warm, nueteral colors or bold and loud colors. Either way, there are many ways to include them into your micro wedding. When thinking about styling an event for a limited amount of guests it is important to keep fluidity in mind. If you are hosting your mico wedding in your backyard, it may not be best to have large props or areas. You want to keep it simple for your guests. This could look like a farmhouse table for your reception instead of multiple round tables. It also could look like a smaller dance floor shared with a photo-booth. The key is to keep your guests less confused as possible. This way they will pick up on cues of where to sit for the ceremony, the reception, and the dance party to follow!

Vendors

If I haven’t convinced you to plan a micro wedding yet this may sway you: You are going to save money on your vendors with a shorter guest list. If you are newly engaged and vendor shopping you may have noticed they are more pricey than you realized. (Which is all for a good reason! Wedding vendors work hard to make your big day perfect!) With a smaller wedding you may not have to worry about the higher costs. This applies especially with catering and drink services! Your wedding vendors will work with you to create the perfect menus, floral arrangements, and music to ensure you day is a your personalized dream come true!

Wedding + Bridesmaid Dresses

I wanted to save the best for last! Finding your fairy tale wedding dress may seem like a daunting task, but it doesn’t need to be, especially if you are on a budget. There are many websites that include discounted wedding dresses that will suite your micro wedding perfectly. One of my personal favorites is BHLDN, an online store that sells discounted Anthropolige wedding, bridesmaid, and mother-of-the bride dresses! You can click here to shop. If you are wanting to shoot for that mixed-match bridesmaid dress look then you are in luck! I wrote a blog dedicated to bridesmaids dresses, here, that includes different styles, themes, and more. This is the perfect way to add your personal touch in your planning proccess.
