A Q+A With Sarah Elizabeth Photography

As we reach the end of 2022, I wanted to take the time to write a very special blog for you! The intention behind my blogs are to provide everyone reading with wedding tips, tricks, and more. And as my business has been growing, I have been wanting to dedicate a blog to questions from you! So, three weeks ago I went to my Instagram and asked all of you to submit questions you had for me! I wanted these questions to range from wedding advice to photography tips!

I received so many great questions from you and wanted to be sure I gave myself enough time to answer them properly, and not in any rushed manner! So, I proudly present to you my first ever Sarah Elizabeth Photography Q+A!

Q: “Why is it important to vet any of your wedding vendors before booking?”

A: Your wedding vendors will be with you for the majority of your wedding day- likely more than you are with your fiance! It is important you like them and get along! It is also important that they are professional, timely, and someone you trust. You can best vet your wedding vendors through questions and by looking into online reviews!

Q: “What makes SEP different from other wedding photographers?”

A: I love walking through every step of the process with you (see client workflow). I don’t just click a button at your wedding and leave it there! I walk along the entire journey with you! I also don’t just take photos of you smiling at the camera, but I try and focus on preserving a feeling. I focus on a lot of detailed moments that will make you remember how you felt in the moment, not just how you looked!

Q: “Is a photographer one of the most expensive wedding vendors and why?”

A: Photographers can be one of the more expensive wedding vendors! Your photos are one of the only tangible things (other than your wedding dress) that you take from your wedding day. Wedding photographers are in the business of preserving memories and we do not take that lightly. There are many hours that go into perfecting your images. Personally, I care about my client relationships as well as the photos so, I put a lot of time and energy into serving my clients in every way.

Q: “Why is booking an experienced wedding photographer important?”

A: I love this question! So, let’s get into it! You can actually relive the moments through the photographs! Your wedding day may feel like a blur and it’s hard to be in the moment in every moment of your day. These photos will help you remember and relive these happy times! Not only that, but there are moments you didn’t know were being captured that you can hold onto forever!

Q: “I would love to see your hiring process, timeline recommendations, and must-haves in your bridal detail shots!!”

My Client’s Work-flow:

We start with a discovery call and chat all things wedding and nonwedding related and get to know each other! I want to make sure we are the right fit and answer all your questions! After our initial meeting, I will send over a proposal of services and if you accept, I will send over a contract and payment plan options! Once you are officially booked, the party starts! I send all my clients a special SEP welcome gift with surprise goodies! Then, we will get started in planning your engagement session (one of my fav parts!) I will work with your other vendors (planners, videographers, etc) to plan your wedding day timeline so we make sure to get every detail covered! Then we party at your wedding and then you will receive a handful of sneak peeks a few days after your wedding and your full gallery will be in your inbox 6-8 weeks later! You can expect to have a lifelong friend in me and reach out anytime you need anything!

My timeline recommendations:

  • Decide what moments are important to you (first look, etc)!

  • Have buffer time (create timelines with more time in between things than needed so there is no stress).

  • The goal is you have a seamless day where you don’t have to think about what’s next and aren’t rushing to the next thing or to the altar.

  • Set aside 10-15 of alone time during your reception with your partner. You most likely will not have talked to each other all day and you need to catch up and reflect on the day and that you’re married! this can be during your dinner (sneak off to a back corner to eat in private together) or during sunset photos (i love pulling couples out during the reception right at sunset or blue hour and just having them take in the day. Go far away from your reception and take in your family and friends celebrating you.)

  • Slow down and try to remember the feeling of everyone you love being in the same place celebrating you.

Thank you to everyone who sent in your questions! It means so much to me to know you are participating in my business with me! I can’t wait to do this again next year. And if you have a question that wasn’t answered above then please feel free to contact me!

Until then…

xoxo-
