Reporting live from Columbia, South Carolina I am Sarah Elizabeth and this is your daily forecast. While it seems as if the rest of the entire state gets a winter wonderland, Columbia has only a steady fall of freezing rain. That’s right. It is time for South Carolina’s annual snow day and while everyone’s Instagram stories are full of snow, mine is showcasing freezing rain. It’s not that I planned an entire day around the snow, but the fact that it’s just too gross to even go outside!
All that to say, I will not be leaving my home today! Instead, I want to talk to all my recently engaged brides. Winter is commonly referred to as “engagement season” in the wedding world. This is a time where we see a spike in engagement’s and it is incredibly adorable to watch every year! I also love this season because I am able to watch all the brides-to-be start planning their wedding! I thought now would be the best time to showcase some of my favorite, unique save-the-date announcements.
. While it does give some information about when and where your wedding will be held, the role of a save-the-date is to allow guests to plan in advance and also let them know that a formal invitation will be sent at a later date. I personally believe that a save-the-date is the small taste at what the wedding will be. You can design your save-the-date around your theme and more!
I went to Google and tracked down some of the best save-the-date ideas! Let’s get into it…
First up, we have the option between coasters or a magnet. Both are great because not only do they serve their purpose for your attendee’s, but they are also functional! You can personalize yours with a photo, a fun design, or your own wedding crest!
Next, we have this adorable newspaper print with all of the details of your wedding! This is a great way to share a little bit of your story with your guests. It could also be put in a frame and hung in your first home. Then, we have a candle with the save-the-date announcement on the front! Again, I love this idea because it is also functional!
To finish, I have this super unique balloon save-the-date with a wedding crest that shows when inflated and a personalized dish-towel! I love both of these ideas because they aren’t seen often so it will make quite an impression when gifted to your guests.
I could go on and on about how to create an unique save-the-date so you’re offering your guests an experience from their first card to the last dance at the wedding reception! No matter how you plan yours, be sure to have fun with it! There are so many ways you can personalize your wedding details and this is one of the first ways!
Until next time…
