Three Poses For Your Engagement Session!

Happy Last Week of May!

I can’t believe we have made it through the month of May! How did everyone survive? This past month was full of wedding weekends and I was able to shoot at some of the most beautiful wedding venues! So, be on the lookout for those galleries soon. But, today I want to all of my engaged couples!

Life post-engagement can be some of the most fun moments! You get to start the wedding planning process, make a wedding registry, and book your engagement photos. But, when it comes time to get behind the camera, posing may not come naturally. I get it! How do you act like yourself when you have a camera in front of you?

Today, I am here to help you out! I am giving you three poses to use in your engagement session!

  1. The Close Whisper

This pose is exactly what it sounds like! You will get in close with your partner and have your faces either close or touching each other. Then, one of you will start to whisper in the other person’s ear! You can tell an inside joke, sing your future wedding song, or just make silly noises! This allows authentic laughs, smiles, and more!

2. Airplane Arms

I love using this pose with any of my engagement shoots because it creates the sweetest photos! With this pose, you will sit in front of your partner, grab each others hands, and start moving them around like an airplane. You can move your arms in, out, around, just a long as you’re having fun with it. One of your partners can even get in close and kiss the other, similar here with Hallie and Nick!

3. The Arm Hold

This pose has to be one of my favorites because it captures such a beautiful, soft moment. One of your partners will face away from the camera while the other partner holds on to their arm while facing the camera. The person facing towards the camera can either serve a soft smile, close their eyes and turn their head toward their partner, or look away from the camera.

Remember that when posing, it doesn’t need to look exactly like the poses above. You are more than welcome to use posing as a base of where you want to be, then adjust it however you want. Be creative, be yourself, and have fun!

If you are looking to book your engagement sessions, I would love to talk with you! You can send your inquiry through my website. From there, we can talk dates, location, and more. Click here, to fill out your form. I can’t wait to talk with you!
